Overview
Three time Emmy-nominated choreographer Stacey Tookey is a multitalented, Canadian director, choreographer and dancer who has worked in both concert and commercial platforms throughout her career. She has worked with legendary musical artists such as Celine Dion, Bette Midler, Christina Perri, Justin Timberlake, Michael Bublé, Ingrid Michealson and Paula Abdul.
Performing highlights include Mia Michaels’ contemporary dance company R.A.W., Parsons Dance Project, Ballet British Columbia, Peter Chu’s ChuThis, Houston Grand Opera and Celine Dion’s record- breaking show A New Day at Caesars Palace. T.V and film choreography credits include So You think You Can Dance for the past 10 seasons and So You Think You Can Dance Canada for it's entire 4 season run , Dancing with the Stars, The James Corden show featuring Paula Abdul, Music videos for Rob Cantor (Shia LeBeouf Live), Ingrid Michaelson (Celebrate), Christina Perri (Jar of Hearts). Films: Dance-Off, Fair Market Value and the upcoming Morning Shine.
She has choreographed full length ballets for Cincinnati Ballet and Los Angeles Ballet and taught at prestigious Universities such as Loyola Marymount University, University of Jacksonville, Princeton and The Juilliard School. She is currently on faculty with NUVO Dance Convention. Stacey’s Dance Company Still Motion celebrated its world premiere of Moments Defined in 2012 and since then have performed for sold out audiences in L.A., NYC, Long Beach and at Perry Mansfield, Jacobs Pillow and recently at DansEncore in Trois- Rivières.
Stacey is the creator and director of The Protégé Movement which hand selects dancers for a mentorship retreat with some of the industry's most influential, knowledgable and inspiring teachers. Mentoring young artists has become Stacey’s heart's passion.
